The Northern Institute is Charles Darwin University's flagship research institute for social and public policy research, development and education, social sciences and humanities. Programs within the Institute include public policy, economics, law, business, political science and demography with a broad research focus on regional northern Australia and its important relationship with our neighbours in South-east Asia. Central to the Institute's outcomes are stakeholders across the public, non-government and industry sectors, and the communities in which the University is active.
Senior Research Fellow Vacancy Reference Number:211078 Up to 3 year fixed term full time appointment; Located in Darwin Remuneration Package: Academic Level C Base salary of $87, 508 - $100,903 per annum plus superannuation employer contribution of 17% District Allowance may apply. Conditions include 6 weeks annual leave A vacancy exists for a Senior Research Fellow who will lead a newly established team of researchers with a focus on evaluation, research design, social impact assessment and needs analysis. You will be expected to develop and pursue an academic publication schedule targeting relevant journals and international conferences. A key responsibility of this position will be to lead postgraduate student and intern recruitment, and contribute to The Northern Institute's communications strategy. Conditions include 6 weeks annual leave A second vacancy exists for Senior Research Fellow you will take a leading role within the research team which is positioning itself as a leading player within the international network of human geography and demography researchers working in remote locations in industrialised nations. This role will work on a suite of research projects around the topics of population studies, tourism and housing; including developing innovative population modelling tools that can be applied to the Northern Territory Growth Towns and their catchments.
