Acres client, a leading social performance consultancy in the extractive sector is looking for an Independent Consultant to support their busy team on a project basis. This global consultancy creates long-term global growth by developing a strong social and economic system in which companies, governments and communities work together.
We are seeking Independent Consultants who are highly skilled and experienced in Social Performance across the extractives sector.
Responsibilities will include:
Identifying, analysing and managing social / socio-economic issues with industrial development projects
Implementing projects to a high quality, managing project risk, budget and producing reports
Client advisory and relationship management across corporate, NGO and community stakeholders
The successful candidate will be adaptable and able to interact confidently with senior corporate clients and community representatives. Areas of technical experience we are particularly interested in include: land and resettlement, local economic development, social impact assessment (SIA), corporate policy and strategy development, organisational development, capacity building, and training.
You will have:
Expertise in several of the technical areas required and experience of leading complex projects
An understanding of corporate systems and ideally have exposure to organizational development
Good management experience with a strong record of delivering contracts on time and on budget
Strong experience in stakeholder engagement and consultation mechanisms with a proven ability to bring different groups together to achieve common objectives
Proven track record managing social issues on extractive projects
Experience of working in developing countries, particularly Africa or the Middle East
You must be a self starter, able to work in rapidly changing environments and circumstances, as well as possessing excellent communication and facilitation skills. Language skills will be beneficial and you must be prepared to travel.
