DPRA Canada is a dynamic employee-owned company that provides specialized consulting services related to environmental planning, policy development and management consulting to clients in the private and public sectors. We require a Senior Socio-economic Impact Assessment (SEIA) Specialist with a minimum of 10 years of experience conducting SEIAs. We are seeking a strategic thinker who can thrive in a fast-paced, complex and changing environment.

Lead the planning and development of socio-economic impact assessments for proposed development projects
Work directly with clients to understand their needs and advise them on potential development projects
Conduct consultations with key stakeholders including government officials, Aboriginal leadership and community members
Carry out environmental and socio-economic studies (baseline, impact assessment, modelling and monitoring)
Prepare proposals, impact assessments, and other technical reports
Grow and develop business in the area of socio-economic impact assessment
Provide management and technical direction to internal and external team members
Qualifications/Experience:
Graduate degree in a relevant area (e.g. environmental assessment, sociology, anthropology, economics, environmental science, or equivalent)
Strong working knowledge of federal, territorial and/or provincial environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks
More than 10 years’ experience managing and conducting of EAs for proposed development projects under Federal/Provincial/Territorial EA processes
Professional experience in the mining industry is essential
Advanced written, verbal and presentation skills
Demonstrated insight, initiative, and creativity in developing solutions for clients
Demonstrated experience developing business opportunities
Additional:
Knowledge of traditional land use and/or cultural impacts of resource development an asset
Experience working with Aboriginal (First Nation, Metis and/or Inuit) communities is preferred
Experience in mining, oil and gas and energy an asset
