The Cumulative Socioeconomic Impacts project (funded by the UQ Centre for Coal Seam Gas has launched the 'Boomtown Toolkit'. The online Toolkit introduces a method to characterise, monitor, and respond to the impacts on communities and regions from rapid resource development. See - boomtown-toolkit.org
The Toolkit has been highlighted in a report on FIFO by the Queensland Coordinator-General's office. The C-G's office will using aspects of the approach in their annual FIFO reports. Interest in the Toolkit has been expressed by four other Queensland government departments and consultancies in Australia and overseas.
2-hour Toolkit orientation sessions are offered monthly.
The Toolkit was created by a team involving Kathy Witt, Jo-Anne Everingham, and Will Rifkin.
