Designed as a core component of the UQ Diploma and Masters Program in Community Relations and Responsible Resource Development programs, CSRM is offering the intensive session to external participants as a professional development opportunity. Participants will engage with recent developments in researching and understanding community issues associated with resource developments from leading researchers and industry experts.

Prerequisites :Designed for community relations practitioners who have responsibility for or who are involved in processes of researching community issues, and evaluating and monitoring the social impacts of mining developments.

Presenter :Professor Saleem Ali holds the Chair in Sustainable Resources Development at the University of Queenslands Sustainable Minerals Institute (SMI). His books include Treasures of the Earth: Need, Greed and a Sustainable Future (Yale University Press) and Environmental Diplomacy (Oxford University Press). Professor Ali was chosen as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum. He received his doctorate from MIT and was also trained and employed in the Technical Leadership Program at General Electric Corporation.
